Wild Kaiser Mtns - Day 4
That's a wrap on this modified version of the "Kaiser Crown” 👑 route! (The mountains look like the top of a crown and you circumnavigate).
Highly recommend this, it's accessible for hikers and trail runners, especially in early spring (minimal snow below ~1580m). Easy to get to from Munich...and also a great climbing area for those into ascending rock!
Body held up quite well aside from some heat rash.
Will have to return with my running buddy one day 👊 👊
Best signage I've ever experienced which made it easy. Also downloading the Kompass app helps.
Route summary:
Day 1: Kufstein --> Hans Berger Haus --> Stripsenjochhaus (10 miles / 4,810ft / 1466m)
Day 2: Stripsenjochhaus --> Walchsee --> Ranieralm (lunch) --> Stripsenjochhaus (23.2 miles / 5,056ft / 1541m)
Day 3: Stripsenjochhaus --> Griesenau --> Gasteig --> Guademeshutte (lunch) --> Going --> St. Johann in Tirol (24.2 miles / 4,024ft / 1232m)
Day 4: St. Johann in Tirol --> Going --> Wochenbrunner Alm --> ridge run --> Hintersteinersee (lunch) --> Stöfflhütte --> Kaindl Hut (coca cola) --> viewpoint --> alll the way down to Kufstein (29.5 miles / 6066ft / 1848m)
Total: 88.7 miles / 19,956ft / 6,082m
