Corner to Corner, Day 40: Inverness to Buckie

https://www.cycling4charity.org.uk 2/3 complete. 20 days to the finish. Good route - a few small changes, e.g. Route 1 in Elgin after Brumley Brae, turns right off Morriston Road onto a too overgrown path/jungle beside River Lossie. Great riverside path after Elgin Cathedral. Contrast the landscape today with yesterday or more particularly 2 days ago. No rain. Cloud-filled sky in the morning; cloudless, in afternoon.

To change route in Komoot from before Blackwell Road to cycle track on the right side all along our bit of Barn Church Road.
Nairn/Culloden Viaduct from Leanach. We had seen this near Clava Cairns on Day 31. I took this and more photos before realising we would pass under it. To revise Day 31 route slightly to include the Cumberland Stone (100ft/30m to the left at the previous junction with the B9006) - said to have been the breakfast table then viewing point for the head of the British army at the 1746 Battle of Culloden. https://canmore.org.uk/site/14202/culloden-moor-cumberlands-stone
1898 29-span 1800ft/549m Nairn/Culloden Viaduct across River Nairn and its valley, Scotland's longest, last seen on route to Alness. Built to take the Inverness to Aviemore Direct Railway, like the 1897 Tomatin Viaduct also seen on Day 31.

The Komoot route took us further than we needed to go; there was a tarmac path before it. Our route then followed a path between a cemetery and the River Nairn.

Brodie Castle. Rebuilt 1824-45. Lorraine was keen to see; I was more for cycling on, yet followed her in for a short while to see what I was passing. I continued on after speaking with another tourist and his wife and thank you for your kind donation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brodie_Castle

The Komoot route I had drawn meant going in the out, so it not practical. The entrance is via the road with the blue dot, next left then coming back to this road to leave.

1948 (Bailey) Broom of Moy footbridge and the 2013 extension with the young woman and her dog.
