Corner to Corner, Day 28: Glasgow to Dunblane

https://www.cycling4charity.org.uk We left our heavenly Warmshowers hosts in the morning, met the wonderful Sandra who tends flower beds and shrubberies on the Forth and Clyde Canal, donated , filled water bottles And gave me a jar of her strawberry jam. Such kindness: you could not make it up. Route great apart from sections to check: U shaped Kippenrait Glen in Dunblane, could it include the Keppies.

Glasgow's impressive cycle track system. I got into conversation with a keen cyclist on the way to the centre, gave him a card whilst cycling and my recollection is that he kindly contributed. Thank you, Stewart, for your support and interest.

Shared path beside the one way Bunhouse Road on route towards University of Glasgow campus. The spire is for the tower of the university's main Gilbert Scott Building completed in 1891; the dome is that of 1927 Kelvin Hall on the corner of this road and Argyle Street. Approaching Kirkintilloch
2008 horseshoe-shaped Millennium Bridge at Southbank Marina in Kirkintilloch. A gentle climb for pedestrians, allowing height for canal craft to pass under. Canal at Auchinstarry
Bonnybridge. This stretch of the canalside and a similar length behind me are tended to by David and 72yr old Sandra, carrying on this contribution to the community of someone who passed away in 2014. We got talking, and Sandra kindly donated, filled my water bottle and gave me a small pot of her strawberry jam. She is also known as Mrs Jam.
