Corner to Corner, Day 19: Hereford to Broseley

https://www.cycling4charity.org.uk Ride with GPS estimated today as 1838ft climb; I needed some relaxation after yesterday, and cycled slower - just as well. Looking back in October at this great day: we were so close to Ludlow Castle, our route should have taken it in. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludlow_Castle We also missed St Laurence's which we went beside! Whilst mindful of time, we could accommodate a 10min whiz.

Approaching via Castle Street the Lady Chapel of Hereford Cathedral, Cathedral Church of St Mary the Virgin and St Ethelbert the King. Built 1107-1148. https://www.herefordcathedral.org/our-history
2005 statue of Edward Elgar gazing at the cathedral. We had cycled past Plas Gwyn, Eign Hill, where he lived 1904-1911, last night on route to our host. There was a blue plaque. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Elgar

Looking south west from the A417 we were on briefly, roughly opposite Woodhouse Lane, past Bodenham parish hall. Between there and the Murco petrol station, on the brow of a slight incline over a stream and bend, a reckless fast SUV driver overtook Lorraine by a metre or less, without regard to the oncoming car which ploughed into the hedge to avoid a collision. The driver in front of him was shaken too.
