๐Ÿ† Day 1000 Run ๐Ÿ ~ A 15,950K Journey over 1000 days ๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿ [๐——๐—ฎ๐˜† ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ] ๐Ÿ† Today is D-Day! ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿฌ ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—ป๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐˜‚๐˜๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ฑ๐—ฎ๐˜†๐˜€ ๐˜€๐˜๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ธ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฌ๐—ž๐—”๐——๐—”๐—ฌ , no rest days, no off days, no sick leaves, no excuses; Just pounding the tarmac every single day, clocking on my minimal 10,000 steps or 10km daily. What better way to end this streak than a mid-week half-marathon along the routes that I have been running throughout the thousand days, from Marina Bay, around Gardens by the Bay, across the Marina Barrage, through Bay East, around 100-Plus Track at National Stadium, Singapore Sports Hub. Total distance clocked is ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฑ,๐Ÿต๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฌ ๐—ธ๐—บ, which is approximately that ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—บ ๐—ฆ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ฌ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ. The journey began when set a personal challenge to reach 100 days, then upgrade to 200, 300, 500 and then why not attempt 1000 days! The route was never easy. Over the 1000 days, I suffered plantar fascilitis on both feet, each lasting months, an ankle sprain once, misstep and fell 3 times, and suffered 3 bouts of viral fever. But each time the body tells me to stop, the mind tells me not to. Stopping meant I would had to reset the streak, and I wasn't going to let that happen. I pushed through those dark days and pursued my 1000 Days Goal streak. It is also through these obstacles, I no longer chase after pace; slowed down and kept my focus on clocking the distance of 10K daily #๐™™๐™–๐™ž๐™ก๐™ฎ10๐™  , which eventually became 13K, as I started looping the Bay. Along the way came the Garmin Distance Clocking Challenge, which span over May 2020 to May 2021; I started clocking half-marathons over the weekends to push up my mileage. The perserveance paid off with eventually earned ๐Ÿฅ‡ No.1 spot for both distance clocked and special award for most activities. That started my sideline goal to do at least 100K each week. Since then, half-marathons on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays just became a norm. I made a point not to participate in races and marathons, so that I do not need to take rest days to recover. I kept to that eventually, but I still managed to do my first full marathon and checked that off my bucket list โœ… . Most importantly, I schedule my runs to fit my family schedule. Family comes first. After all, I run to keep fit for myself and to be always be there to take care of the family. Let me be their role model. With busy work ๐Ÿ’ผ and family ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ commitments, it is never easy to find a sweet spot to blend in my workout regime. I swore never to sacrifice work and family to accommodate me. So I decided to take my runs pre-dawn. Up by 4 a.m. each day ๐ŸŒ™, gave myself the window to finish my runs before 6 a.m., so that I can be home to get my kids ready for school ๐Ÿšธ. That too became a norm, when I saw the benefits of starting each day with a good strenuous workout. So even when on holidays โœˆ๏ธ, staycation, work trips, the regime doesn't change! Today, I accomplished my goal, ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ†๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿ… ๐Ÿญ๐Ÿฒ ๐—ธ๐—บ ๐Ÿ”ธAverage pace: 5:43 min/km ๐Ÿ”ธTotal time: 1,517 h 35 mins ๐Ÿ”ธTotal calories burnt: 992,341 ๐Ÿ”ธ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿฎ half-marathons completed ๐Ÿ”ธ๐Ÿฏ full marathons completed ๐Ÿ”ธ29 pairs of running shoes ๐Ÿ”ธRan in Singapore, Bali, Batam, Jakarta, Johor, Kuala Lumpur ๐Ÿ”ธRan through the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown I will ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ…
