IRONMAN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2025 — swim

Deep water mass age group start, no wetsuits, ocean swim. That race started in unfamiliar territory. What a mess — you‘re surrounded by 300+ athletes, most of which better swimmers than yourself, and suddenly everyone is targeting the same buoy. Washing machine feeling, chaos, lots of salt water to swallow. But I kept calm, took some hits and pushes here snd there, and eventually found my spot. The swim part of triathlon is my least favorite, but once you found you‘re rhythm an ocean swim can be enjoyable. No wetsuits means less float and less protection, but better range of motion.
