Padova Marathon 18th (3rd M35)

Nice marathon, idea was to do it as a training run for Cork, set off at 3:45min/km pace found a nice group with the first Italian lady and ran with them to the finish. It was quite warm ~20 degrees and sunny but with water every 5k it was grand. Loads of support, last 2km around Padova was almost entirely on cobbles which I don’t mind but some people would not like. Very nice marathon if you like running flat country roads in the nice Italian countryside. Wore the AlphaFly 3 because it is the best show for running a marathon and not being beat up afterwards. Start was out at Padova’s football stadium, drove out there and parked under the huge solar panels. Rhona got the bus from there to the start of the half marathon. There were a good few Kenyans and Ugandans. They played the Italian 🇮🇹 national anthem which was great and then had a minutes silence for the pope. Then we got underway, no mad start, nice and handy before the nice countryside roads began.
